About Novo Asian Food Hall

Local food hall with community dining style seating featuring small, family-owned Asian restaurant concepts that offer counter service and takeout for lunch and dinner.

Located at 1931 Smallman St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, Novo Asian Food Hall operates as a food court serving Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Quick-bite Asian spots, food courts and asian fast-food counters are built for speed: order at the counter, pay up front, and food usually comes out within a few minutes. Combo meals with a main, a side and a drink are common and generally the best value. Food courts and food halls group several counters under one roof and let you mix orders from different vendors at shared seating, which is useful for groups with different cravings. Noodle shops and dumpling counters often sell by the dozen or by weight rather than as fixed plates, so check the board before ordering. Most of these spots take cards and mobile pay, and tipping is optional at counter service, though a jar for the staff is common.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night with some family who were visiting. It was wonderful! Parking was difficult in this area (as expected), but everything else was great! We ordered from Mola, Korea Garden and Sumiโ€™s Kitchen. There was plenty of seating and everyone was friendly! The cocktails at the bar in the middle were not expensive and all sounded great! They had some local beers on tap, too. All of the food options from each of the vendors looked great and it was really clean inside! Shout out to Korea Garden in particularโ€” the spicy chicken was great and the dumplings were possibly the best Iโ€™ve ever had. What really stood out was the service, though. One of our relatives is new to Korean food and they wrote instructions for her on her meal container and visited our table to kindly suggest what sauces to use, how to mix it all together, etc. it was kind and unassuming and much appreciated. Canโ€™t wait come back and try some other dishes!

I'm new to PGH and wanted some Korean fried chicken and dumplings. I ordered from two different spots and took my pagers to the bar for a cold beer. Everyone was pleasant, the food was great, the beer was cold. Not sure I could ask for much more. If you're in the neighborhood it's definitely worth stopping in.

By all the photos I come here a lot since this place opened. I love this place! All the asian comfort food you can find plus some very creative and beautifully crafted drinks from the bar. The atmosphere alone is why I always come back too! From feeling like im somewhere in Japan drinking whiskey highballs while watching old school anime on their many tvs. I can never get tired visiting this place and talking to all who work there. Always excited to come back here when I have time! I need to come for the happy hour and I will force friends to go with to enjoy this experience haha!

Iโ€™ve never had bland Asian food till today. Ate at Tan Lac Vien. Got the honey chicken rice plate, Bun special bowl, and chicken crispy dumplings. Everything was just bland. $20 each for the meals for serving sizes of a Lean cuisine. Disappointed. Half the bowl was lettuce and bean sprouts. Donโ€™t let it fool you. The dumplings were decent? But again not worth the money. Atmosphere is cute. They have pagers to give you which was nice. It wasnโ€™t super busy on a Sunday afternoon. I might eat here again, but try something else.

It's nice to have the option of getting something at each restaurant! Atmosphere is friendly and open to all. Very inclusive!
